Welcome back to the dev log for Cosmic Cowboy, since my last blog, there has been a ton of new features, bug fixes and general improvements.
Just a re-fresher for those who are just joining the dev log:
Cosmic Cowboy is a Tactics turn-based RPG inspired by Fallout 1 and XCom, where the player must navigate the distant planet of Proxima Centauri B and its dangerous inhabitants in this character-driven Space Western narrative.
The current state of the project is nearing our very first alpha play testing phase. When this phase of the development process begins, we'll be able to send out public builds of the game and gain extremely useful insights for the game. The sooner and quicker we can get this build done, the quicker we can improve and polish the game.
So far since the last dev log there have been tons of additions, here's my input for the level:
- New UI interface along with interaction sounds
- Pause menu in game
- Quit menu in game
- New main menu
- Concept art gallery
- Ending credits
- Fungus narrative
- Basic text to speech for narrative
- Audio for player actions
- Numerous level fixes via play testing
We have a lot of work to get done in the meantime. Here's a list of our next prioritised features to get in:
- Voice acting for characters
- Start creating level 2
- Animations for Cowboy + Enemies
- Enemy models
