Cosmic Cowboy - Dev Log #3

Welcome back to the dev log for Cosmic Cowboy, since my last blog, there has been a ton of new features, bug fixes and general improvements.


Just a refresher for those who are just joining the dev log:


Cosmic Cowboy is a Tactics turn-based RPG inspired by Fallout 1 and XCom, where the player must navigate the distant planet of Proxima Centauri B and its dangerous inhabitants in this character-driven Space Western narrative.


Over the last week, we have made significant progress on the first level and even a complete overhaul of the main menu. We are also in a position to start the main development of the game and are no longer in pre-development. We still have a lot of polishing to do for the first level but we have a rough estimate of getting the first level done before Christmas.


New additions:

- Complete overhaul of the main menu

- Complete overhaul of in-game UI

- Added animations for the player and enemies

- In-game menu added

- Added in main menu gallery and credits

- Additions to dialogue

- Numerous bug fixes

Planned features:

- The camera zooms in on an action taking place (Player shooting, enemy dying etc...)

- Damage numbers for the player and enemies

- Health bar for the player

- Minimap

- Camera rotation

- Enemy selection on who to shoot


Playtesting is also in full swing now, we have a public build now available for download, I'd really appreciate anyone who goes and checks out Cosmic Cowboy and provides us with feedback! The more feedback we get, the better the game we can create.
